2
Our program runs Monday–Thursday from 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM.
Is this a licensed preschool?
3
No. Little Folk House is a license-exempt enrichment program. We focus on short, high-quality morning sessions rooted in play and nature.
Do you provide snacks?
4
Yes, a healthy snack is provided daily around 10:30 AM. We respectfully accommodate allergies noted on enrollment forms.
What if my child is not fully potty trained?
5
Children must be independent in the bathroom (potty trained) to attend.
Do you offer drop-off and pick-up flexibility?
6
We ask families to arrive by 9:00 AM and pick up promptly at 12:00 PM to honor our daily rhythm. Early drop-off or late pick-up must be arranged in advance.
How do you support big feelings and behavior?
7
We view behavior as communication. We stay calm and connected, name feelings, and support children in learning how to navigate emotions and relationships with gentle, consistent boundaries.
Can I stay and observe?
8
We encourage short, confident goodbyes at drop-off to help children settle into their day. Parents are always welcome to schedule a time to observe or chat with teachers.
Why do you offer open-ended art instead of crafts with a set outcome?
9
We believe children learn and express themselves best when they have the freedom to explore materials in their own way.
Open-ended art allows children to experiment, make choices, problem-solve, and take ownership of their creations. There is no “right” or “wrong” way — only their way.
Crafts with a pre-determined outcome (where every child’s project looks the same) can limit creativity and send the subtle message that there is one correct result. We want children to feel confident in their own ideas, process, and expressions.
At Little Folk House, you will see a lot of paint, collage materials, loose parts, mud, and messy play — and yes, the children’s clothes often show it! This kind of creative exploration is an essential part of how young children learn, develop, and build confidence.
